Project Summary

As a specialised supplier of concrete, Daracrete played a crucial role in the Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport project, supplying the concrete to CPB Contractors that was used for the completion of more than 3.2 kilometres of elevated viaducts. The large-scale project required concrete supply from a multitude of suppliers, and Daracrete was proud to play a part in supplying over 22,000m3 of concrete for segment production.

All works were carried out during night shift to maintain the overall project timeline, requiring Daracrete to develop precast concrete mixes with specific overnight strength requirements. This ensured segments could be cast efficiently, supporting the project's tight casting and production schedule.

The three elevated viaducts stretch between Orchard Hills and Luddenham, and form part of the new 23 kilometre metro line. Upon completion, the line will connect communities from St Marys to Bradfield, with the capacity to transport up to 7,740 passengers per hour in each direction.
